As kids, Halloween was the holiday, the one we spent no less than a month preparing for; an entire night was spent dragging our parents through decked-out neighborhoods lined with dimly lit pumpkins and doorsteps drenched in porchlight. Obviously, those days have changed; it's easier to do school hosted events or line kids up for trunk-or-treats. Few houses leave their lights on, even fewer don decoration. But, as adults that remember the pure joy and magic of Halloween night, of celebrating the one stretch of a few, solitary midnight hours where you can be anyone and anything you want, we wish to keep creating a Halloween experience that reminds us of the wonderful experiences we had as children. For the past few years, we have built a solid reputation for a very elaborate, exciting, and otherwordly Harry Potter Halloween. Pooling our creative energy, we have spent months developing a fantastical Harry Potter themed walk-through in our garage, complete with individually made wands, house badges, prizes, special effects, and treats. We have endeavored to create a fun, safe, and thrilling adventure for kids, where they can be, if only for a few minutes, in Hogwarts. As time goes by, our ideas get more detailed; they get bigger. We get inspiration and think of even better souvenirs for children and adults alike, but unfortuantely, we can't quite build it all on our own - which is why we are hoping to bring in even a little financial support with this fundraising page. Money collected will go towards standard gifts - the handmade wands, game prizes, treats, and props. We create virtually everything from scratch, and ever dollar counts. Every wall, every potion book, every folded little slip of cardstock we slip candybars into, just so they have a Honeyduke's label - those are all us, working dilligently to give an amazing experience to not only the kiddos, but to parents and Harry Potter lovers alike. We truly enjoy working so hard for this event; it's such an amazing experience and it means the world to us when we see the light in people's eyes when they get a wand, or when family and friends laugh about who got sorted into Hufflepuff.
